~ Trip Summary ~

Immerse yourself into the birthplace of mountain biking as you spend your days sampling the best regional riding throughout Marin & Sonoma counties. A selection of trails await all levels of riders, but this tour is best suited for those with some singletrack experience atop two wheels for maximum enjoyment. Northern California served as the birthplace for the modern-day mountain bike and we'll take out all the guesswork by guiding you on THE best trails in the Golden State.  If you're after lots of singletrack and interested in exploring some great off-bike attractions in Nor Cal, this is the tour meant for YOU.

DAY ONE  15-25 miles

We begin our tour with a pickup in San Francisco before heading north into Marin County. We’ll spend the day riding some of the best trails in THE birthplace of mountain biking, which includes a network of trails on Mount Tamalpais and the newly build Flow Trail in Camp Tamarancho. Wrap up today’s ride and enjoy lunch in Fairfax, a laid-back cycle-centric town. We'll make a stop in San Rafael to poke around downtown before checking in to our overnight accommodations in nearby Larkspur. Here, you can relax, clean up and relax before we reconvene for our welcome dinner.

DAY TWo  16-22 miles

Today we start off with an incredible ride at nearby China Camp where you’ll put your tires on the dirt and churn out some fantastic miles on twisty & fast hard pack trails beneath towering ancient oaks and Manzanita. You’ll catch epic views of the San Pablo Bay and San Francisco skyline on today’s route and get a dose of history pertaining to the Chinese-American fishing village that surrounded these trails. After, we’ll grab lunch in Petaluma at the gateway to Sonoma County and one of California's oldest cities. Take time to enjoy a microbrew or that perfect espresso while exploring downtown before we make our final transfer of the day to Healdsburg, our home for the next two nights.

Today we visit Santa Rosa and spend the day riding at Annadel State Park. With over 5,000 acres of rolling hills, seasonal streams, meadows and woodlands, you’ll be stunned by the variety of the landscape while selecting from over 40 miles of trails to ride. We’ll stop off in downtown Santa Rosa this afternoon where you'll have the opportunity to grab a craft beer or two from a variety of microbreweries. Returning to Healdsburg, you’ll have the rest of the day free to explore as you see fit as you dine on your own. With a wealth of options in this dense and quaint food mecca, you surely can't go wrong, but your guide will happily to help you make a smart pick before leaving you to your own devices. Rest up - another full day awaits tomorrow!

Grab a taste of wine or a nice refreshing lager and kick back to fully embrace California-living at its finest. A final transfer of the day will take us from Sonoma County into neighboring Napa County, where we'll bid farewell to our 6 day riders and continue on to San Francisco to let you continue your travels as you see fit.
