NORTH TAHOE TEASER

This condensed version of our Tahoe Singletrack Sampler is for those short on time, but still into big adventures. Focusing on the riding zones sprinkled around Truckee and North Lake Tahoe, cyclists joining this tour will explore some of the most popular and lesser known trail gems around Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe. You'll even get to dig your tires into the dirt of the Lost Sierra on a pilgrimage North before heading home. This trip is great for both acoustic (analog) and electric pedal-assist electric mountain bikes! With high alpine lakes to keep you cool, knowledgeable guides to keep you on track, three action-packed days to keep your senses from going hungry, and proper lodging and meal inclusions to keep the batteries topped off, this trip has it all.

Itinerary

DAY ONE

Get ready to ride! We’re kickstarting this weeklong mountain bike tour with morning coffee in Truckee, where you’ll meet the team and get your bikes sorted. Then it’s time to shuttle up to Donner Summit for a remote singletrack loop through a forested, granite playground where you’ll enjoy a mix of flowy and technical stretches. Lunch and sunshine at the mid-ride swimming hole will fast track you into vacation mode. Rejuvenate back at the van and perhaps you’ll have enough in the tank for an afternoon shuttle down the Donner Lake Rim Trail. Post-ride libations and snacks will be enjoyed at the Gravity Haus Hotel before we reconvene for our welcome dinner.

ride details: 13 - 23 miles & 1,200' - 2,400' climbing

DAY TWO

We point our van in a different direction today towards one of the area’s highest trailheads that offers mind-blowing views of Big Blue (Lake Tahoe). Tacking on some elevation gain at the start takes us to a wilderness boundary where you rarely see another soul – just how we like it. Then it’s over 10 miles of descending down to the water’s edge for lunch and a chance to wash that dirt-eating grin away with a little swim. We return to Truckee this afternoon, and it’s up to you how you choose to arrive back there. Those wanting some more saddle time are dropped off near Watson Lake for a sublime ride on Big Chief and Sawtooth back to town.  Relax at the hotel or head out to explore old town before we get together for our final group dinner.

ride details: 16 - 32 miles & 1,700' - 3,200' climbing

DAY THREE

You’ll be packing your bags this morning, but there’s still plenty left in store with two more rides on offer. The first adventure is a backcountry ride to the summit of Mt Lola, perched well above 9,000 feet! The approach meanders through lush meadows and pine forests before ascending into the craggy alpine high country. Savor the panoramic views before plunging over 2,000’ back down to the van. Another lake, another lunch and then we’re heading north for the day’s cherry-on-top shuttle ride down Mills Peak, which is 7 miles of spectacular trail totaling over 2,500’ of elevation loss. Enjoy a post ride beer under the trees at a nearby brewery before the 1 hour shuttle back to Truckee, where you’ll tell our team goodbye.

ride details: 9 - 18 miles & 2,000' - 2,500' climbing
